5PM: With operations to begin in weeks, Amazon shows off new fulfillment center
SALT LAKE CITY — With bright yellow paint, high ceilings and robots zipping across sprawling floors, Amazon’s newest distribution center in Salt Lake City evokes a tech Wonka factory.Just a few weeks away from bringing the facility on line, Amazon officials showed off their near-finished warehouse Monday, with hard-hatted, orange-vested city officials in tow.

“We obviously get a tremendous amount of inventory,” said Michael Taylor, the general manager of Salt Lake’s distribution center. “This facility deals primarily with smaller items that we pick, pack and ship to our customers.”

Taylor demonstrated some of the distribution center’s processes on a short tour of the still-active construction site. Beginning with inbound delivery, he said products will be brought inside the warehouse and dropped in yellow pods — either for storage or immediate delivery.

Taylor said Amazon has 50,000 of these small yellow bins in the new distribution center.

When in operation, 6,000 “drive units,” robots that look like oversized orange Roombas, will carry the stacks of yellow pods to Amazon’s workers.

“We’ll have associates working at stations like this,” Taylor said, motioning to fenced off workstations with computer screens, “to either store that inventory, or to pick it for a customer order.”

From there, Taylor led Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski and other city officials along the elaborate distribution maze, ending with spiral slides that drop packages into the hands of workers to place on trucks, bound nationwide.

Amazon will hire some 1,500 people to staff the new distribution center in Salt Lake City’s northwest quadrant, and about 1,100 applicants have received job offers, according to Michael Taylor, the general manager of Salt Lake’s fulfillment center.

City and state officials have been courting Amazon since 2017, offering the company an eight-year, $5.7 million tax incentive.

Gov. Gary Herbert said at the time that snagging one of the world’s most valuable retailers was a feat.

“To have a company like Amazon, as big as they are, choose Utah for a fulfillment center is a great win for us,” Herbert said. “It’s a big shot in the arm for Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County and the state.”

Before touring the new warehouse Monday, Biskupski also lauded Amazon and its decision to become a tenant of Salt Lake City.

“Salt Lake City is proud to welcome Amazon to Utah,” Biskupski said. “And we are grateful this incredible new space is nearing completion.”

“I think its fair to say that Salt Lake City definitely provided ‘Prime’ service to Amazon to ensure you can be shipping on time,” Biskupski said.

The incoming associates will receive “great wages” and “fantastic benefits,” according to Taylor, despite starting wages that suggest otherwise.

Amazon’s online job posting for new associates — the positions that represent the majority of the new hiring in Salt Lake City, according to an Amazon spokeswoman — advertises a starting wage of $12.50 per hour. That’s an earning rate that falls far short of the state’s median wage of just over $17 per hour.

A worker who puts in a year’s labor will earn them a flat $26,000 — over $20,000 shy of Utah’s $46,460 median annual wage.

While the overwhelming majority of the new Amazon jobs will hover near the low level, a portion of them will exceed the average Salt Lake County annual earnings of $50,537, or about $24.30 per hour.

Utahns not applying but still hoping that Amazon’s presence in the Beehive State would mean they could get their packages faster will have to wait and see.

“I don’t really know the impact,” Taylor said of faster ship times in the state. “Obviously, we see enough continuing, growing demand from our customer base here in Utah, that in order to satisfy it, we need to have a fulfillment center here.”

Amazon officials were also hard-pressed to say what the expected economic impact of the new warehouse could be, besides their incoming large swaths of hires.

“The reason we don’t have numbers on Utah is because we’re brand-new here,” said Amazon spokeswoman Lauren Lynch. “The longer we’re in Utah, the longer we’ll be able to see the impact of Amazon’s presence.”

Biskupski, already optimistic about Amazon’s arrival, hopes the tech-giant will improve the state economy in other ways than employment.

“I’m kind of hoping, at some point, Amazon teams up with Packsize to decrease the size of their boxing,” Biskupski said. “Packsize is right here in this neighborhood — so maybe there’s an opportunity there for them to partner.”

Amazon’s new Utah fulfillment center is in the final stages of construction in Salt Lake City on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018. The 855,000-square-foot facility will employ over 1,500 full-time workers, shipping smaller items to customers. (Photo: James Wooldridge, KSL)

The mayor also said she thinks Amazon’s presence will drive up the minimum wage in the state, “even though this state has refused to shift the minimum wage in the state for over a decade.”

“Partners like this will drive opportunities to get a living wage across the state,” Biskupski said.

Biskupski also mentioned the tuition program available to Amazon’s incoming Salt Lake employees as an example of the company’s ability to help its workers.

Upon reaching the one-year mark, employees become eligible for the company’s Career Choice program, which provides up to 95 percent, prepaid tuition compensation for vocational or technical training or pursuit of associate-level degrees for “in-demand” jobs.

Those include aerospace, information technology, computer science, health care and others, and the program does not require a commitment to stay with Amazon on completion.

The $250-million regional fulfillment center will join over 100 warehouses across the country once it begins operation in the coming weeks.

Historic face transplant gives suicide survivor a ‘second chance’

By Jacqueline Howard, CNN | Posted – Aug 14th, 2018 @ 9:04am

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) — As Katie Stubblefield brushed her fingers across her face, she could feel the wound. Her vision is greatly impaired due to her injury, but touching her face allowed her to feel what her doctors were working around the clock to treat. She could feel where her face was swollen. She could feel the portions that were missing.

That was before Katie, at 21, became the youngest person in the United States to receive a face transplant. The transplant, performed last year, aims to restore Katie’s face structure and functions — such as chewing, breathing and swallowing — which were lost in a severe gunshot injury, the haunting outcome of a suicide attempt as a teenager.

Now, Katie hopes to use her historic surgery to raise awareness about the lasting harms of suicide and the precious value of life.

She is featured on the cover of National Geographic magazine’s September issue, which debuted Tuesday, in an article titled “The Story of a Face” and in National Geographic’s full-length documentary “Katie’s Face.”

‘I had no clue what a face transplant was’

In the days prior to Katie’s suicide attempt, she faced a number of emotional hurdles.

She underwent surgery for chronic gastrointestinal problems, and she faced betrayal in a personal relationship. Around that time, Katie’s mother, Alesia, was abruptly fired from a teaching job at Katie’s school because Alesia “questioned several decisions that were made lacking integrity,” Katie’s father, Robb, told CNN.

On March 25, 2014, when Katie was 18, her older brother, Robert Stubblefield, heard the gunfire and found her after she harmed herself in a bathroom at his home in Mississippi.

He was devastated.

Katie doesn’t remember that tragic day when she lost her face. She has said that she doesn’t remember much of that year — including being hospitalized in Oxford, Mississippi; being flown to another hospital in Memphis, Tennessee; and then being transferred to Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, where she would undergo her face transplantation three years later.

It was in Memphis where Katie’s parents, Robb and Alesia, heard the term “face transplant” for the first time.

“There was an older trauma surgeon who basically told us, ‘It’s the worst wound that I’ve ever seen of its kind,’ and he said, ‘The only thing I can think of that would really give her functional life again is a face transplant,’ ” Robb said.

“I was standing there thinking, ‘What do you mean, a facetransfer? What do you do?'”

When Katie was later told about the possible procedure, she said, she was equally stunned.

“I had no clue what a face transplant was,” Katie said. “When my parents helped explain everything to me, I was very excited to get a face again and to have function again.”

Nine months and 22 days before Katie’s face transplant, at Cleveland’s Tudor Arms Hotel, Katie and her father sing “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?” as they share a dance. “Before this, I never spent so much time with my parents,” said Katie, who credits their love and devotion with helping to save her life. Photo: Maggie Steber, National Geographic

Full and partial face transplants are medical procedures that involve replacing all or parts of a person’s face with donated tissue, including skin, bone, nerves and blood vessels from a deceased donor.

Katie’s procedure involved transplanting the scalp, forehead, upper and lower eyelids, eye sockets, nose, upper cheeks, upper jaw and half of lower jaw, upper teeth, lower teeth, partial facial nerves, muscles and skin — effectively replacing her full facial tissue, according to Cleveland Clinic.

Similar to Katie, the first recipient of a face transplant in the United States was a woman who survived a gunshot wound to the head. That patient, Connie Culp, underwent a 22-hour transplant surgery at Cleveland Clinic and debuted her new face in 2009.

That was a near-total face transplant. The world’s first successful full face transplantwas conducted at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona, Spain, in 2010.

As for where Katie fits in, “only 40 people in the world have ever had a face transplant, and we believe that she is the 39th person,” said Susan Goldberg, editor-in-chief of National Geographic magazine.

“We think her story is one of the most important stories that we will do this year,” Goldberg said of the magazine. “We thought it was just such a moving and inspiring story that is about everything from human journey to breakthrough medicine and science.”

‘You take it for granted, the different components of our faces’

Before Katie’s face transplantation, surgeons at Cleveland Clinic used 3D printing to help reconstruct about 90 percent of her lower jaw, said Dr. Brian Gastman, a plastic surgeon at Cleveland Clinic who led Katie’s surgery and oversaw her care.

The surgical team used CT scans of the jaw of Katie’s older sister, Olivia McCay, to 3D-print a model template for the reconstruction.

“We made a plate designed for the combination of Katie and her sister’s jaw, and that’s what we used to make Katie’s jaw before we did the transplant,” Gastman said.

He noted that when he first saw Katie’s injury, he worried that she might not live.

In March 2016, Katie was placed on the waiting listfor a face transplant. Fourteen months later, a donor was found: Adrea Schneider, a 31-year-old woman who died of a drug overdose, National Geographic reported. Before the procedure, Katie underwent extensive psychological evaluation as a face transplant candidate and suicide survivor.

After she was cleared to receive her new face, the 31-hour surgery began May 4, 2017. It involved 11 surgeons, several other specialists and virtual reality. The surgery was completed the next day.

“I am able to touch my face now, and it feels amazing,” said Katie, who still has some difficulty speaking clearly.

Her father, Robb, translated some of her sentiments: “You take it for granted, the different components of our faces — the bone, the tissue, the muscle, everything — but when it’s gone, you recognize the big need. Then when you receive a transplant, you’re so thankful.”

Katie was discharged from Cleveland Clinic on August 1, 2017. She takes immunosuppressive drugs to reduce her risk of transplant rejection, which occurs when a transplant recipient’s immune system attacks the transplanted organ or tissue. She will continue to take the medication for the rest of her life.

Katie also continues physical and occupational therapy, works with a speech therapist and takes Braille lessons.

“I’m definitely taking many, many daily steps,” Katie said of her rehab progress, adding that her family has been a big help in her recovery and that her faith has kept her strong.

“Life is precious, and life is beautiful,” she said.

Face transplantation is considered experimental, and insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid don’t cover it. A grant from the US Department of Defense, through the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine, covered Katie’s transplant, according to National Geographic. The institute works to develop advanced treatment options — including face transplantation — for severely wounded servicemen and -women.

“I remember Dr. Gastman mentioned to me, he said basically that Katie was kind of the quintessential potential candidate for a face transplant. One, because of the type of wound that she suffered, but also she is in that age bracket of so many soldiers,” Robb said. “She’s in that late-teen to early 20s, where so many young soldiers are being wounded and injured.”

While Katie’s medical care team hopes that her surgery can advance the field of face transplantation, there are many other hopes for her future.

Katie plans to attend college online soon, possibly followed by a career in counseling and motivational speaking. She hopes to raise awareness about suicide and suicide prevention.

“My first wish for Katie is to be happy,” Gastman said.

“That’s number one, but beyond that, I’d like her to have some level of normalcy,” he said. “Then, she can do all that and become a spokeswoman for so many aspects — for how to be strong in the face of adversity and not to make a singular decision dictate who you are. Further, on the other hand, how much a singular rash decision made by so many young people today could negatively change your whole life.”

He said Katie “had the ultimate second chance.”

Suicide awareness remains critical, said Katie’s mother, Alesia.

Globally, close to 800,000 people die due to suicide every year, which is about one person every 40 seconds, according to the World Health Organization.

In the US, suicide rates significantly climbed in 44 states from 1999 through 2016, according to a report published in June by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Nearly 45,000 lives were lost to suicide in 2016, and more than half of people who died by suicide did not have a known mental health condition.

In 2016, guns were the most common method used in suicide deaths in the US, accounting for 22,963 — almost half of all — suicide deaths, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

Among young people, “I think we do a pretty decent job of educating them about sex and about drinking and driving,” but education around suicide prevention is lacking, Alesia said.

“I can honestly tell you, for Katie, we do not believe for one moment that she wanted to die,” Alesia said. “But we do believe she hit that low where she definitely tried and thought about it, and for a moment — 20 seconds or less — kids can make those decisions.”

‘We lose a brother:’ Draper mourns death of battalion chief killed in California wildfire

DRAPER — City officials identified the Draper firefighter who died while battling the Mendocino Complex Fire in California Monday.

Draper Fire Battalion Chief Matt Burchett, 42, died in a hospital after sustaining injuries while fighting the blaze north of San Francisco, Draper Mayor Troy Walker said during an early-morning news conference.

Burchett leaves behind a wife and young son.

He was one of five Draper firefighters sent to California to help fight the fire.

Burchett had also worked with the Unified Fire Authority for 20 years before joining Draper’s force. Burchett was an expert in wildland fires and a master of his craft, according to Draper Battalion Chief Bart Vawdrey.

“I’ve known Matt for a long time, over 20 years. Every time we lose a brother, it’s hard,” Vawdrey said. “This will be felt across the country.”

Burchett jumped at the chance to help firefighters in California, Vawdrey added.

“I think anybody in the department would do the same,” he said.

Funeral arrangements for Burchett are still pending, and Draper will be working with Cal Fire and the state to get his body back home.

Six firefighters have died in California wildfires; and the deadliest fire, the Carr Fire, has left eight people dead, including three firefighters, according to the Associated Press.

Burchett was the second firefighter from the Draper City Fire Department to die in the last two months. Fire Marshal Bryan Thatcher died June 28 at his home, according to a Facebook post from the Draper City Fire Department.

Cars plunge in Italian highway bridge collapse; 20 killed

MILAN (AP) — A bridge on a main highway linking Italy with France collapsed Tuesday in the Italian port city of Genoa during a violent storm, sending vehicles plunging 45 meters (nearly 150 feet) into a heap of rubble. Authorities said at least 20 people were killed, although the death toll fluctuated throughout the day and some people were found alive in the debris.A huge section of the Morandi Bridge fell at midday over an industrial zone, sending tons of twisted steel and concrete onto warehouses below. Photos from the Italian news agency ANSA showed a massive gap between two sections of the bridge.

The head of Italy’s civil protection agency, Angelo Borrelli, said 30-35 cars and three heavy trucks were on the 80-meter (260-foot) section of the bridge that collapsed.

Hundreds of firefighters and emergency officials were searching for survivors in the rubble with heavy equipment. Firefighters said at least two people were pulled alive from vehicles and taken by helicopter to a hospital.

Video of the collapse captured a man screaming: “Oh, God! Oh, God!” Other images showed a green truck that had stopped just short of the edge and the tires of a tractor trailer in the rubble.

There was confusion over the death toll, which changed several times during the day.

Civil protection authorities said 20 were killed and 16 were injured, based on multiple verifications from the prefecture’s office. But Genoa Mayor Marco Bucci told Sky TG24 that the number of dead was above 25 people and that 11 injured were pulled from the rubble. Two other officials earlier put the death toll at 22 with 13 injured but said it was expected to rise.

Borrelli told a news conference in Rome that all the victims appeared to all have been in vehicles that fell from the bridge.

The disaster occurred on a highway that connects Italy to France, and northern cities like Milan to the beaches of Liguria. The Morandi Bridge connects the A10 highway that goes toward the French Riviera and the A7 highway that continues north toward Milan. Inaugurated in 1967, it is just over a kilometer (.6 miles) long.

The collapse came on the eve of a major Italian summer holiday on Wednesday called Ferragosto, which marks the religious feast of the Assumption of Mary. It’s the high point of the season, when most businesses are closed and Italians head to the beaches or the mountains. That means traffic could have been heavier than usual on the Genoa highway.

The design of the bridge has been criticized in the past. Antonio Brencich, a professor specializing in reinforced concrete construction at the University of Genoa, called the span “a failure of engineering” in an interview in 2016.

“That bridge is wrong. Sooner or later it will have to be replaced. I do not know when. But there will be a time when the cost of maintenance will be higher than a replacement,” he told Italian media Primocanale.

Borrelli said highway engineers were checking other parts of the bridge and that some areas were being evacuated as a precaution. He said they were still trying to figure out the cause of the collapse.

“You can see there are very big portions of the bridge (that collapsed). We need to remove all of the rubble to ascertain that all of the people have been reached,” he said, adding that more than 280 rescue workers and dogs units were on the scene.

“Operations are ongoing to extract people imprisoned below parts of the bridge and twisted metal,” he said.

Transportation Minister Danilo Toninelli called the collapse “an enormous tragedy,” adding that if negligence played a role, “whoever made a mistake must pay.”

Toninelli said the company that has the concession to operate that section of highway said its maintenance on the bridge was up to date and no work was being done at the time of the collapse. But he added that they were about to launch a 20 million euro ($22.7 million) bidding process for significant safety work on the bridge.

“There has not been sufficient maintenance and checks, and safety work for many bridges and viaducts and bridges in Italy constructed — almost all — during the 1960s,” he said.

Since getting his job two months ago, Toninelli said he has asked for updates on the state of all bridges and viaducts in Italy. Many are operated by outside contractors.

French President Emmanuel Macron, meanwhile, offered his country’s help in a phone call with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, who was expected to travel to Genoa later in the day.

It was the second deadly disaster on an Italian highway in as many weeks.

On Aug. 6, a tanker truck carrying a highly flammable gas exploded after rear-ending a stopped truck and getting hit from behind near the northern city of Bologna. The accident killed one person, injured dozens and blew apart a section of a raised eight-lane highway.

This story corrects the height of the bridge to 45 meters (147 feet).

WASHINGTON — The defense spending bill President Donald Trump signed Monday includes a provision to transfer Forest Service land to Utah State University for space research.

The legislation will convey 80 acres in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest to the Utah State University Research Foundation. The university’s Space Dynamics Laboratory, NASA and other organization have used the land since 1966.

“There’s no sense in hampering the SDL’s mission with needless bureaucratic burdens. This bill will allow Utah State to focus federal resources on the lands that matter most while encouraging research on human space exploration,” said Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who advanced the proposal.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — Paul Manafort’s defense rested its case Tuesday without calling any witnesses in the former Trump campaign chairman’s tax evasion and fraud trial. Manafort himself chose not to testify.

The decision by Manafort’s lawyer, Kevin Downing, not to call witnesses clears the way for the jury to hear closing arguments in the trial, now in its third week.

Manafort is accused of hiding millions of dollars in income he received advising Ukrainian politicians. The defense has tried to blame Manafort’s financial mistakes on his former assistant, Richard Gates. Defense attorneys have called Gates a liar, philanderer and embezzler as they’ve sought to undermine his testimony.

Closing arguments in the case are scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Asked by Judge T.S. Ellis III whether he wished to testify in his defense, Manafort responded: “No, sir.” The decision came after a more than two-hour hearing that was closed from the public.

The judge has not given any explanation for the sealed proceeding, only noting that a transcript of it would become public after Manafort’s case concludes.

Manafort’s decision not to testify and not to call witnesses came after Ellis rejected a defense motion that the case should be dismissed on grounds the government failed to meet its burden of proof. Manafort’s lawyers asked the judge to toss out all the charges against him, but they focused in particular on four bank-fraud charges.

The government says Manafort hid at least $16 million in income from the IRS between 2010 and 2014 by disguising the money he earned advising politicians in Ukraine as loans and hiding it in foreign banks. Then, after his money in Ukraine dried up, they allege he defrauded banks by lying about his income on loan applications and concealing other financial information, such as mortgages.

Manafort’s lawyers argued that there is no way that one of the banks, Federal Savings Bank, could have been defrauded because its chairman, Stephen Calk, knew full well that Manafort’s finances were in disarray but approved the loan to Manafort anyway. Witnesses testified at trial that Calk pushed the loans through because he wanted a post in the Trump administration.

Ellis, in making his ruling, said that the defense made a “significant” argument, but ultimately ruled the question “is an issue for the jury.”

Prosecutors rested their case on Monday, closing two weeks of testimony that depicted Manafort as using the millions of dollars hidden in offshore accounts to fund a luxurious lifestyle — and later obtaining millions more in bank loans under false pretenses.

The trial is the first to emerge from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, but it does not relate to any allegations of Russian election interference or possible coordination with the Trump campaign. Neither Manafort nor Gates have been charged in connection with their Trump campaign work.

Still, the proceedings have drawn President Donald Trump’s attention — and tweets — as he works to undermine the standing of the Mueller investigation in the public square.

Trump has distanced himself from Manafort, who led the campaign from May to August 2016 — with Gates at his side. Gates struck a plea deal with prosecutors and provided much of the drama of the trial so far.

Gates said he helped Manafort commit crimes in an effort to lower his tax bill and fund his lavish lifestyle. During testimony, Gates was forced to admit embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from Manafort and conducting an extramarital affair.

The prosecution has introduced a trove of documentary evidence as they’ve sought to prove Manafort committed 18 separate criminal counts. Along the way, they’ve not only faced an aggressive defense team but tongue-lashings from the judge, who pushed the government to speed up its case.

What You Lose When You Sign That Organ Donor Card — Shocking!

    Posted By: LilliHart

Giving away your organs sounds noble, but have doctors blurred the line between life and death?

The article below quotes Robert Truog, professor of medical ethics, anesthesia and pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, about the possible pain felt by an organ donor who has been declared brain dead. Mr. Teresi writes that Dr. Truog “compared the topic of pain in an organ donor to an argument over ‘whether it is OK to kick a rock.’ ” A review of Mr. Teresi’s notes after the publication of the essay reflects that Dr. Truog, when asked whether a donor feels pain, said “it’s like kicking a rock.” Dr. Truog, however, denies that he used the analogy. “I can tell you in the strongest possible terms that I am certain I never said anything like this.” In a separate issue, recipients of single-organ transplants—heart, intestine, kidney, liver, single and double lung and pancreas—are charged an average $470,000, ranging from $288,000 for a kidney transplant to $1.2 million for an intestine transplant, according to consulting firm Milliman. A previous version of this article incorrectly said that average recipients are charged $750,000 for a transplant, and that at an average 3.3 organs, that is more than $2 million per body. White House called Public Water Contamination with Industrial Toxins ‘PR Nightmare’ (33 States)

That’s it?? A PR nightmare?? What about all of those suffering people?? As George Carlin said, “They don’t care about you.. They don’t care about you.. They don’t care about you!!”

HORSHAM, Pa. — Lauren Woeher wonders if her 16-month-old daughter has been harmed by tap water contaminated with toxic industrial compounds used in products like nonstick cookware, carpets, firefighting foam and fast-food wrappers. Henry Betz, at 76, rattles around his house alone at night, thinking about the water his family unknowingly drank for years that was tainted by the same contaminants, and the pancreatic cancers that killed wife Betty Jean and two others in his household.

Tim Hagey, manager of a local water utility, recalls how he used to assure people that the local public water was safe. That was before testing showed it had some of the highest levels of the toxic compounds of any public water system in the U.S.

“You all made me out to be a liar,” Hagey, general water and sewer manager in the eastern Pennsylvania town of Warminster, told Environmental Protection Agency officials at a hearing last month. The meeting drew residents and officials from Horsham and other affected towns in eastern Pennsylvania, and officials from some of the other dozens of states dealing with the same contaminants.

The EPA is being urged to regulate a group of chemicals that are contaminating the public water supply in dozens of states. The group of chemicals known as PFAS were used in everything from nonstick cookware to firefighting foam. (Aug. 13)

At “community engagement sessions” around the country this summer like the one in Horsham, residents and state, local and military officials are demanding that the EPA act quickly — and decisively — to clean up local water systems testing positive for dangerous levels of the chemicals, perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS.

The Trump administration called the contamination “a potential public relations nightmare” earlier this year after federal toxicology studies found that some of the compounds are more hazardous than previously acknowledged.

PFAS have been in production since the 1940s, and there are about 3,500 different types. Dumped into water, the air or soil, some forms of the compounds are expected to remain intact for thousands of years; one public-health expert dubbed them “forever chemicals.”

EPA testing from 2013 to 2015 found significant amounts of PFAS in public water supplies in 33 U.S. states. The finding helped move PFAS up as a national priority.

fwd: “Beware: aspartame as a sublingual delivery mechanism”

    Hi, Folks –

Founder of Mission Possible, Dr. Betty Martini, sent this out to her distribution list:

    Dear David,

Basically aspartame is a sublingual killing machine.

So good to hear from you. I seemed to have missed your email when it first came in. What worries me is that since aspartame has caused the obesity epidemic people think its sugar and have swapped over from sugar to aspartame, especially with the sugar taxes.

I know what you mean about hospital problems. I was given generic drugs with aspartame which interacted with other Rx and I stopped breathing three times. http://www.mpwhi.com/iatrogenesis_aspartame.htm Then a physician on checking told me all generic gastrointestinal drugs have aspartame.

I finally took the time to write Johns Creek Hospital about the problems with aspartame, as well as a copy to the Board of Directors. only to get back a short note they hope the next stay will be better. They completely ignored all the death dealing problems.

In many cases generic drugs are changed to be chewable or sublingual so they have an excuse of needing a sweetener. In a pill you simply swallow why would you need a sweetener? Therefore, its intentional.

“You people should have
taken care of me.
Instead you abandoned me.”
(Refugee Child)

This is the report of a joint UNHCR/SC-UK assessment that was conducted
from 22 October to 30 November 2001 in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
The assessment looked at the scope and nature of sexual
violence/exploitation of refugee and displaced children in the sub-region. It
considered the extent of the phenomenon, its causes and consequences, as
well as recommendations for future action.
Acknowledgements are due to the following for conducting the study and for
producing the assessment report: Sydia Nduna (Sexual and Gender-based
Violence Consultant), Christine Lipohar (SC-UK) and Asmita Naik (UNHCR).
Credit is also due to regional and country staff for laying the groundwork and
participating in the study. Including, in particular – Fode Babe Conde, Mary
Flomo Hall, Nafisatu Jalloh, Bondu Mani, Lynn Ngugi, Hawa Sesay and
Tammi Sharpe from UNHCR, and Miatta Abdullai, William Kollie, Augustus
Seeley and Cornelius Williams from SC-UK. Partner agencies extended
considerable assistance and support in enabling the camp visits to take place.
Government counterparts, UN agencies, national and international nongovernmental
organisations alongside refugee communities throughout the
region readily contributed their knowledge, views and experiences to the
assessment team.
A special appreciation goes to all the children who had the courage to share
their experiences and information with a team of outsiders on a subject that is
considered taboo in most African cultures. The exchange of information was a
learning experience, which greatly facilitated the understanding of the lives of
refugee children. It highlighted the importance of giving refugee children a
voice which is heard, listened to and respected in directing decisions that
govern humanitarian intervention and influence whether they are able to live
their lives in dignity.

The Trump campaign has filed a formal complaint against Omarosa Manigault Newman saying she breached a confidentiality agreement signed in 2016, in response to her newly released book and promotional tour.

“Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. has filed an arbitration against Omarosa Manigault Newman, with the American Arbitration Association in New York City, for breach of her 2016 confidentiality agreement with the Trump Campaign,” a Trump campaign official told Fox News in a statement on Tuesday.

The move comes as the reality TV star’s explosive tell-all memoir is released, detailing her time at the White House and with the 2016 campaign.

In the book and in promotional interviews, she has trashed her former colleagues and President Trump himself.

But the question of whether she violated any confidentiality agreement has hung over the tour.

In her book, she claimed that she “refused” to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon her exit from the Trump White House. But on Monday, Trump tweeted that “Wacky Omarosa already has a fully signed Non-Disclosure Agreement!”

Wacky Omarosa already has a fully signed Non-Disclosure Agreement!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 13, 2018
This may have been a reference to one signed when joining the campaign.

The Washington Examiner reportedly obtained a sample of the agreement, which would require her to keep information about the president, his companies and his family confidential, and not “disparage” the Trump family “during the term of your service and at all times thereafter.”

It’s unclear whether such an agreement would apply to disclosures about events and conversations after the campaign, however.

The American Arbitration Association declined to comment when asked by Fox News about the complaint.

In her book, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” released Tuesday, Manigault Newman aims to settle countless scores, blasting Trump, depicting tensions inside the first family and mocking her former campaign and White House colleagues.

Manigault-Newman also accuses Trump in the book of being “racist” and a “misogynist,” and of being “mentally and physically impaired.”

Manigault Newman accuses Trump, whom she calls her “mentor” throughout the book, of expecting “moblike” loyalty, likening him to a “cult leader.”

“Loyalty is a loaded topic when it comes to Donald Trump. His moblike loyalty requirements are exacting, imperishable, and sometimes unethical (as in James Comey’s case.),” she writes. “But for the people in Trumpworld, loyalty to him is an absolute and unyielding necessity, akin to followers’ devotion to a cult leader.”

She alleges: “Trumpworld is a cult of personality focused solely on Donald J. Trump.”

Trump has blasted Manigault Newman, calling her “wacky” and a “crazed, crying lowlife.” And on Tuesday, Trump praised his chief of staff John Kelly for “firing that dog!”

The president also blasted her as “vicious, but not smart” and said “people in the White House hated her.”

She has drawn tough criticism from the White House after she revealed secretly taped recordings of her conversation with Kelly in the White House Situation Room during her termination, and said that Kelly was “threatening” her.

She also revealed she taped a phone conversation with Trump after she was fired.

Manigault Newman, meanwhile, claimed that she believed her firing was related to her knowledge of a tape made in the early 2000s, in which Trump supposedly uses “the N-word.”

Trump and current and former White House and campaign officials dispute the claims of such a tape.

Twitter To “Suspend Accounts For Trying To Evade Suspension”

Having seemingly distracted the world, briefly, from being caught ‘shadowbanning’ conservatives (or should we say “using quality filters”), by outright-banning other right-leaning individuals (Alex Jones and Peter van Buren forever; and Candace Owen and Ron Paul Institute’s Daniel McAdams temporarily), it appears Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey has a cunning plan for purging the rest of the world’s naysayers from his platform.

It’s simple – according to the latest tweet from @TwitterSafety – Twitter will suspend you for trying not to be suspended

Which sounds like a dragnet or one-strike rule.

And rather than be careful in its suspension, it is relying on you to claim back your account status should you feel aggrieved…

One wonders if this sudden more harsh crackdown is due to pressure from the left after Dorsey appeared to be getting cozier with a number of ‘rightists’?

We leave it to Nigel Farage to sum things up: writing in a scathing op-ed last Tuesday, the former UKIP leader blasted that “while many on the libertarian right and within the conservative movement have their issues with Alex Jones and InfoWars, this week’s announcement by YouTube, Facebook, Apple, and Spotify represents a concerted effort of proscription and censorship that could just as soon see any of us confined to the dustbin of social media history.

He concludes that the real interference in “US democracy” comes not from Russia, but from some of its most powerful corporations which now yield more power in some cases than the government itself:

“This isn’t “liberal democracy” as they keep pretending. It’s autocracy.”

“…for those that don’t take issue with the latest censorship of right-wingers by big social media — unless we take a stand now, who knows where it could end.

The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between high-ranking members of the Republican presidential campaign staff and a Russian lawyer with Kremlin ties remains the cornerstone of claims that Donald Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election.

A growing body of evidence, however, indicates that the meeting may have been a setup — part of a broad effort to tarnish the Trump campaign involving Hillary Clinton operatives employed by Kremlin-linked figures and Department of Justice officials. This view, that the real collusion may have taken place among those who arranged the meeting rather than the Trump officials who agreed to attend it, is supported by two disparate lines of evidence pulled together for the first time here: newly released records and a pattern of efforts to connect the Trump campaign to Russia.

The first line of evidence includes emails, texts, and memos recently turned over to Congress by the Department of Justice. They show how closely senior Justice Department officials and the Federal Bureau of Investigation worked with employees of Fusion GPS, a Washington-based research firm reportedly paid $1 million by Clinton operatives to dig up dirt on the Trump campaign.

It’s starting to feel real. Both Boeing and Elon Musk’s Space Exploration Technologies Corp. have contracts with NASA to fly astronauts to the International Space Station as part of what’s known as the Commercial Crew Program. Seven years after the end of the Space Shuttle program, NASA introduced the astronauts who will fly with both companies.

Now comes the hard part.

On Monday, at SpaceX’s headquarters in Hawthorne, Calif., the media-and more importantly, SpaceX employees-got a chance to meet the four astronauts who will fly on “Crew Dragon,” the spacecraft SpaceX designed to ferry astronauts safely to and from the orbiting lab. Here are the next big steps for SpaceX and the Dragon team:

– Demo-1: SpaceX will conduct an uncrewed demonstration mission without humans aboard known as Demo-1. The Crew Dragon spacecraft assigned to Demo-1 underwent thermal vacuum and acoustic testing at NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Ohio and arrived in Florida last month. Demo-1 is currently targeted for November.

– In Flight Abort Test: SpaceX will demonstrate its ability to swiftly carry the Dragon capsule to safety in the event of an in-flight mishap with the Falcon 9 rocket. There won’t be astronauts on board for this test, which will be conducted from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Neither NASA or SpaceX has named a target month; early next year seems likely.

– Demo-2: Following Demo-1 and the abort test, Air Force Col. Bob Behnken and former Marine Corps test pilot Doug Hurley will be the first two astronauts to fly in Dragon, which will launch from Kennedy Space Center. Hurley, who has been with NASA for 18 years, said he’s thrilled with the white space suits SpaceX designed-if you watched the Falcon Heavy launch in February, the dummy “Starman” was wearing one behind the wheel of Musk’s cherry red Tesla Roadster. “The old space suits are really heavy,” said Hurley. “SpaceX started from scratch and built this in house. It’s pretty neat looking. I’ve worn the suit over 20 times already, and it’s lighter and a lot more comfortable to wear.”

Demo-2 is currently targeted for April 2019.Though SpaceX and Boeing are in a race to see who will get astronauts to the ISS first, both companies, as well as NASA, said they are focusing on safety over schedule.

“We are not going to fly until we are ready to fly safely,” said SpaceX Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell at the event Monday. “We need to hit all the boxes and do everything we need to do to take astronauts from U.S. soil as often as NASA will let us.”After SpaceX successfully completes Demo-2, NASA will certify the spacecraft and systems for regular crewed launches to the ISS, with astronauts Mike Hopkins and Victor Glover flying the first operational mission.

Even with all the safety precautions and testing, however, the astronauts remain aware that space flight is extremely hazardous.”The only thing I’m afraid of,” said Glover, who is married and has four daughters, “is not coming home to my family.”

We are not afraid of fear, we are afraid of the hurtful, traumatic, painful, disappointing, or unexpected consequences of the actions we take. We have courage until we experience an unexpected and painful outcome. We never would have believed that things could have turned out so badly so we must be bad, wrong, or just plain ignorant. This is a wisdom moment for us, to consider how we got to this place that we can learn valuable lessons from. But instead, it becomes a source of failure, fear, and false beliefs. So we judge our incompetence, stupidity, and blindness and vow that we will ‘never do that again.’

When we asses the past consequences in terms of the wisdom we gain from them, use our courage to set far-reaching, strong intentions and prepare a Plan B to address possible ‘less than optimal outcomes’, the statement “I am afraid” loses its power because the source of our fears is not a mystery, and we stay within the shining light and powerful energy of our heart’s courageous energy that will help us move through any obstacles until we reach our goals.

AA Gabriel – You have been given limitless resources to use in your earth life. These limitless resources include wondrous beauty, relationships that affirm the divinity within you, freedom to be the best you can be, and an abundant flow of money. This flow of money is sometimes the most difficult of God’s gifts for you to see in your life. You stand in the midst of this energy, which can be used to make your life more comfortable, and yet many times, your ability to receive these resources is limited by your thoughts and by your resistance to receiving.

This energy from the Divine Source, which is called money, has the same properties inherent in it that any of God’s gifts have, such as Love and Joy. It is the strong energy of Life Force, which you can tap into, in order to receive the blessings of abundant cash flow.

One easy way to make yourself more available to money is by creating thoughts of unlimited resources in your mind. Your thoughts create your reality. When you entertain thoughts of lack, of “not enough” in your life, this translates in your world as not enough money to meet your needs. A shift in your thinking is necessary before you can attract an abundant level of income to yourself.

One way to change your consciousness is by affirmations. We have given you a very powerful affirmation to say every day, and especially every time you write checks or spend money, even if it is only pennies. This affirmation is:

All the money I give is blessed and returned to me multiplied.

When you bless anything — your friends, children, life partners, jobs, etc. — the inherent good within is increased. Blessing leads to an increase in energy. So when you bless all the money you spend, you increase the energy it carries into the world.

You have heard the expression, what goes around, comes around. This is a basic principle: what you give is what you receive. When you give blessings, you receive blessings. When you give out of fear of lack, you receive back what you fear — lack of abundant income. Fear is a very powerful force that can attract to you what you fear most. Love and blessings however, contain even more power and can bring to you that which is blessed with love. Remember that God is the source of your supply and there are no shortages. This inexhaustible resource of Spirit is equal to every need you may have.

Many people come to the Ocean of Abundance with only a teaspoon, when they could bring a bucket or a tanker truck. You can consciously choose to expand your ability to receive and to enlarge your own container. One way to do this is through prayers of gratitude and blessings for what you already have and for what you will receive. These prayers will help to lift your consciousness and bring you to a place where you can affirm the truth that you are one with abundant life and with the abundant flow of money and prosperity in the world. Blessing all the money you give is another way to do this.

God’s abundance exists everywhere, and you can move into the stream of consciousness that allows you to have all your needs met, when you develop the attitude of gratitude, blessing, and affirming the divine truth of abundance within all things. So begin now to bless that which you have and bless those you love. Lift yourself up so you can begin to see that which is good in your life. And remember your message from Archangel Gabriel today:

All the money I give is blessed and returned to me multiplied.

A new Gallup poll finds that Democrats now view socialism more positively than capitalism.

“For the first time in Gallup’s measurement over the past decade,” Gallup’s Frank Newport notes, Democrats have shown “a less upbeat attitude toward capitalism.”

Public urinals that offer almost no privacy are now in Paris to combat the city’s public peeing problem.

Reportedly four urinals have been installed and a fifth one is on the way, according to the district’s mayor, Ariel Weil.

“If we don’t do anything, then men are just going to pee in the streets,” Weil said. “If it is really bothering people, we will find another location.”

The public outlet is about the size of a garbage can with a red upper-half and is crowned with a flower box on top for an appealing lure.

The controversial unit is called a “Uritrottoir,” fashioned by combining the French words for urinal and pavement.

Now that the Uritrottoir has been spotted in more posh enclaves like Île Saint-Louis – not far from Notre Dame – more and more Parisians have expressed outrage.

“There’s no need to put something so immodest and ugly in such an historic spot,” saida local store owner.“We’re told we have to accept this but this is absolutely unacceptable.”

“It’s destroying the legacy of the island. Can’t people behave?”

Additionally, the manufacturer champions the eco-friendly design of the Uritrttoir as the staw the user relieves himself in can easily be used as flower compost for Paris’ parks and gardens.

Unsurprisingly, some locals have even deemed the Uritrottoir as sexist because its implementation subjects the entire populace to men’s “uncontrollable” urges.

“They have been installed on a sexist proposition: men cannot control themselves [from the bladder point of view] and so all of society has to adapt,” said a local feminist. “The public space must be transformed to cause them minimum discomfort.”

The filthy nature of Paris’ streets has made headlines in recent news due to the sheer number of migrants on public streets, which is comparable to a large, outdoor festival occurring every day.

  • He starts in the Japanese storage module which is in the furthest corner
  • He finishes in the Russian part, passing past his colleagues on the way
  • The ISS is currently home to two Russians, three Americans and one Japanese

This breathtaking new video illustrates why life on the International Space Station (ISS) is not suited to people who suffer from claustrophobia.

Shot by Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev, the incredible footage takes viewers on a journey around one of the longest routes on the ISS.

Artemyev starts the route inside the Japanese storage module, which is in the furthest corner of the space station and finishes in the Russian part of the station.

The journey involves squeezing through small, dark tunnels that link the different modules that make up the ISS.

Artemyev is currently enjoying his third expedition to space, having reached the ISS travelling aboard the Soyuz MS-08 in April 2018.

He regularly posts videos to his 200,000 Instagram followers.

The International Space Station (ISS) is a $100 billion (£80 billion) science and engineering laboratory that orbits 250 miles (400 km) above Earth.

It has been permanently staffed by rotating crews of astronauts and cosmonauts since November 2000.

The space station is currently home to two Russians, three Americans and one Japanese.

  • Fine air particles weigh less than 0.0025mg and are given out in exhaust fumes
  • When inhaled, become deposited in the lungs where they enter the circulation
  • Can then damage a baby’s brain, hindering its cognitive function

‘What we have proven here is the height most children travel at while in a pram doubles the likelihood of negative impacts from air pollution when compared to an adult.

‘When you also consider how vulnerable they are because of their tissues, immune systems and brain development at this early stage of their life, it is extremely worrying that they are being exposed to these dangerous levels of pollution.

InfoWars Official App Jumps to Number 4 — Dominates CNN, NYT, ABC

Attempts to censor InfoWars backfire as Streisand effect kicks in

Downloads of the Infowars Official App have completely eclipsed the rest of the dying media’s own apps in the face of Big Tech censoring Alex Jones and his platform on Monday.

The Infowars Official App is currently ranked at #4  in Apple’s App Store, soaring above CNN (#6), Google News (#5), Buzzfeed (#10), Fox News (#7), The New York Times (#11), ABC (#19), and BBC (#26).

Well-informed and liberty-loving people alike immediately recognized the app is a direct line to Infowars and Alex Jones, circumventing the globalist tech gatekeepers who arbitrarily put conservatives under their boot of censorship.

The app’s popularity surge comes amid Big Tech’s coordinated Monday censorship and deplatforming of Infowars and Alex Jones content on YouTube, Facebook, iTunes, and Spotify.

Currently available as of this writing, the Infowars Official App is able to bypass the tried-and-true silencing tactics like shadow banning and putting a cap on view count.

Perhaps this is why CNN advocates removing [Infowars] app from the store.

Ironically, CNN’s Anderson Cooper tried to emulate Alex Jones’ live stream format, but it failed miserably and ended up being a multi-million-dollar dud.

The Real Reason Apple, Facebook, Spotify & YouTube Banned Infowars

Statement from Alex Jones: The EU is already fining Google and others if they don’t start censoring speech by calling it “hate speech” and/or “fake news.”

When our government doesn’t start fining them for violations of free speech, racketeering and trust/monopolistic behavior, that encourages other governments like China and the EU have influence over the free market of ideas.

But this situation also highlights the trust set up by mutli-national combines based in China and in Europe that’s stealing all of our rights and freedoms through a concerted effort.

They would’ve done all of this last year had Hillary gotten into the White House. Yet, due to Trump instead getting elected, this plan has been held off for about a year-and-a-half.

Now, it seems, they don’t fear Trump for whatever reason, and now they’re making their move.

But I don’t think President Trump has been compromised, but he’s compromising himself one way or another if his administration doesn’t make this the central issue.

Free speech is the central issue; this is the heart of the matter. This is the core. This is it.

Apple, Spotify, Facebook and YouTube all banned Infowars within 12 hours of each other, illustrating how last night’s purge was a coordinated effort and has nothing to do with these platforms enforcing “hate speech” rules.

Here are the real reasons Infowars is being purged by Big Tech:

– Infowars is widely credited with having played a key role in electing Donald Trump. By banning Infowars, big tech is engaging in election meddling just three months before crucial mid-terms.

– With the Infowars ban, Apple, Facebook , Spotify & YouTube (Google) have all now ascribed themselves the power to remove people & outlets from their platforms based on their political opinions. This power will be abused time and time again to meddle in elections.

– The ban also sets the precedent that the mere charge alone of having committed “hate speech,” with no specific examples even provided, is enough to memory hole an individual or group’s digital presence.

– The ban is just part of a wider censorship purge that also use stealth censorship, shadow banning and algorithmic manipulation to hide and bury conservative content.

– Apple also chose to shut down Infowars after we repeatedly criticized them for working with and selling data to the Communist Chinese government. Just a coincidence, I’m sure.==

For conservative media outlets who don’t speak out because they don’t like Infowars, we have a message for you – you’re next.

Facebook banned Infowars after lobbying by both CNN and Democratic Congressman Ted Deutch (D-FL). This isn’t “just a private company,” this is brazen political censorship.

This is the outcome of the left refusing to debate their ideas and simply no-platforming their adversaries instead.

This is the modern day electronic equivalent of book burning.

This is throwing dissidents in the Big Tech gulag because their voices were becoming too loud and having too much influence.

This is the purge. This is election meddling and COLLUSION.

It will only intensify unless lawmakers act now to introduce a Digital Bill of Rights and treat social media giants as telecommunications companies who are forbidden by law from discriminating against people and media outlets based on their political opinions.

The First Fake Media-Induced Mental Illness

Jeffery Ford – Fake mainstream news sources have actually succeeded in broadcasting so much unbridled fear into the United States that weak-kneed left-leaning Americans are coming down with a mental illness that goes by two different names: Trump Anxiety Disorder and Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The symptoms of these conditions include a delusional belief that it’s the end of the world, a disorientation that’s beyond the liberal norm, an unhealthy obsession with following every liberal news channel’s apocalypse of the day, a deep sense of anxiety and dread, and being prone to unhinged hissy fits if anyone dares to besmirch the sterling reputation of either Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Hussein Obama.

While “Trump Anxiety Disorder” (a term originally coined by psychologist Jennifer Panning) and Trump Derangement Syndrome are real, they have been deceivingly misnamed.  These mental illnesses have absolutely nothing to do with our 45th president and everything to do with our partisan media, who are ruthlessly and unethically trying to take down our duly elected commander in chief.

President Trump’s many achievements in the White House are actually serving to elevate the spirits of many Americans who are responsibly receiving their news from reliable sources.  Last quarter’s 4.1% growth rate, Latino and black unemployment at record lows, greater security at our nation’s border, and Trump’s historic meetings with Russian president Vladimir Putin and North Korean president Kim Jong-un are all reasons for joy and celebration.  These accomplishments are just a few of the reasons why President Trump’s approval ratings continue to climb.

Trump Anxiety Disorder and Trump Derangement Syndrome should immediately have their names changed to Fake News Anxiety Disorder and Fake News Derangement Syndrome.

Never before in the history of the United States have the vast majority of news outlets marched together in lockstep in an apparent effort to gaslight the American populace into believing false narratives about both their country and their duly elected president.

Relentless Ad Hominem Attacks

Ever since Donald Trump declared his candidacy for the presidency on June 16, 2015, we have been inundated with assertions that Donald Trump is a racist, sexist homophobe who is unfit for elected office.  All of those accusations have repeatedly been proven to be unfounded.

What kind of a racist would entrust and appoint Dr. Benjamin Carson, Sr. as the United States secretary of housing and urban development?  What type of a sexist would ever have made Kellyanne Conway his campaign adviser and then later made her a counselor to the president?  And no homophobe would ever have stood in front of the Republican National Convention as Donald Trump did during his acceptance speech and say, “As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology.”

Threats of Nuclear Annihilation

Do you remember being told that President Trump was risking nuclear war with North Korea for simply tweeting about “Little Rocket Man”?  President Trump later met with President Kim Jong-un on June 12, 2018.  The negotiations resulted in the signing of a joint statement where the two leaders agreed on working together to establish peaceful relations between the two countries and also for the Korean Peninsula.  President Trump also negotiated the release of the remains of  fifty-five United States troops who whose lives were taken during the Korean War.

Illegal Alien Children Separated from Parents and Human-Traffickers

While the vast majority of the media didn’t mind at all when illegal alien children were being separated from their parents and human-traffickers during the Obama administration, it sent the leftist talking heads into a frenzy to see the Trump administration do the exact same thing for the protection of the children.

Time Magazine even had the audacity to copy and paste on its cover a photo of a crying two-year-old girl from Honduras standing next to President Trump with the caption “Welcome to America.”  The photo gave Time the notoriety it desired and also stigmatized our president and our country in a most unfair manner.

Just remember that whenever you see the immigration and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) protesters out carrying signs saying, “No borders, no nation, no deportation,” we do have a president in the Oval Office doing everything possible to keep those children as safe as possible – no matter what country they came from.

Turning the Clock Back on Women’s Rights

The hysterical caterwauling over President Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court is only going to get shriller the closer we come to his confirmation hearings.  Sadly for everyone suffering from Fake Media Derangement Syndrome, the media are getting a loathsome assist from their Democratic political allies, who are helping to bring the pain to those they purport to care for.

House minority leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement, “The President’s selection is a clear and disrespectful assault on the fundamental rights of women and on the quality, affordable health care of the American people[.]”

Failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hilary Rodham Clinton said while speaking to the American Federation of Teachers, “You know, I used to worry that they wanted to turn the clock back to the 1950s, now I worry they want to turn it back to the 1850s” – implying that Trump’s nominee would take us all the way back to not just back-alley abortions, but the days of slavery.

Both the Democrats and the fake media are doing everything they possibly can do to manufacture unfathomable anxiety in their voting base to get them out to the polls for the November midterms.  They aren’t even the slightest bit concerned that their fear-mongering is resulting in what is now being called Trump Anxiety Disorder and Trump Derangement Syndrome, because they truly don’t care about you.  They care about only themselves.

WH insists Trump’s no racist as he vilifies another minority

Imagine if BP, Exxon, Chevron and Sunoco all moved, on the same day, at the same time, to charge $5.00/gal for gasoline at their service stations.  That would be illegal collusion to take advantage of a monopolistic position.  That’s essentially what happened today when Facebook, YouTube, Apple and Spotify simultaneously banned the Alex Jones broadcast from their platforms; in an effort to purge him from the internet.

Ezra Levant has some perspective worth sharing:

“One of the terrifying things about the Facebook & Apple bans of everything Alex Jones has ever said, is that it is not based on any particular allegation. They haven’t identified a specific violation of their terms of service. They’re just un-personing him.”

“It’s not a legal approach (remedy a problem) and it’s not an intellectual approach (articulate what thoughts are now banned, and why) . It’s a de-platforming approach, a mob approach, hysteria. It’s how Antifa would act, if they owned a trillion-dollar tech company. Or China.”

“Roman emperors practiced “damnatio memoriae”, in English: to “damn the memory” of troublesome people, such as a rival brother they had killed. They literally scraped non-persons off of paintings, destroyed sculptures of them.

Catherine Austin Fitts on How Underground Bases Are Collateral for Pension Funds [Video]

Alexandra Bruce – Catherine Austin Fitts just made her first appearance in several weeks on Dark Journalist this Friday evening to promote the latest issue of the Solari Report, “Who’s Who and What’s Up and What’s Up in the Space Economy”. I’ve set the start point after her story about the many hoops she jumped through to be confirmed as Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 1989 under newly-appointed Secretary Jack Kemp during the GHW Bush Administration.

The conversation turns to how she never conceived of a Secret Space Program until repeated episodes of space stations having problems resulted in HUD having their budget ransacked to cover the costs.

“There seemed to be a relationship between space and HUD…they were in an appropriation basket together.” She later referred to this as part of the “Space Tax” and also learned that Oliver North called HUD the “Candy Store of covert revenues.” Over time, she was informed by others of the Secret Space Program, which she was only able to confirm the only way she knew how – by following the money.

She notes that mining and elevator companies were making a lot of money during a period of massive construction of underground bases and how a subscriber of hers, who she describes as being “Really deep in the Texas business community,” swore that all of the offshore drilling of GHW Bush’s company, Zapata Oil “Had nothing to do with the oil…it was all missile silos – which makes sense, what a perfect cover.”

Zapata, which was also co-founded by former CIA chief, Allen Dulles is notorious as having been an unprofitable offshore oil drilling business that was in reality a front for covert activities. All Zapata records and SEC filings between 1960-1966 are missing, with 1,000 boxes having been pulped just prior to Bush 41 taking office as Vice President in 1981.

Fitts also says there’s a “Perfect symmetry between all this money that is disappearing,” and the infamous $21 trillion missing from the US Government Federal Budget. She deadpans, “I really believe what they saw on Voyager scared them to death and that’s when the financial fraud just went nuts.”

Although Fitts says she was too caught up in her work in 1989 to be aware of the Franklin Cover-Up scandal being publicized at the time, she did have a close brush with it because her boss, Jack Kemp was caught up in the White House call boy episode associated with it.

She says, “He was clearly being blackmailed…I’ve never seen a human being more afraid than Jack Kemp at that time.” A career HUD deputy during that period told her that she had to be very careful, informing her, in so many words, that Jack Kemp was a pedophile.

Still, as far as the “missing trillions” are concerned, Fitts says, “You can’t just bust through all those financial controls with sex slaves and control files and pedophilia…Terrorizing people – that can cut through a lot – but…somebody, somewhere has to believe that what they’re doing has a legitimate purpose – a strategic purpose.”

She then gets into the gory details of what this spells for the pension funds. “If you look at this from the highest portfolio strategy level, the US Government is simply a laundromat; to take real money out of pension funds and move it into private hands as a gift.” However, Fitts believes there is a remedy to this – and it involves disclosure.

“All you need is for 25 pension trust fund trustees with Treasuries all around the world to say, ‘OK, disclosure! This this is a violation of the Securities Law, to sell US Securities and not disclose some material omission’…All you need is for a completely out of control group of pension fund trustees and sovereign wealth trustees all over the world to say…’That money’s disappearing out the back door. Where’s the money? That’s our money. That’s collateral on our debt. That’s our spaceship. That underground base; that’s our collateral. You need to bring that back on the balance sheet.’”
